Title: Accounting Clerk
Reports to: Business Services Manager

Position summary

The Accounting Clerk is a full-time, benefits-eligible position within the Business Services Office at Ouachita Baptist University. This entry-level role provides essential support to the Business Services Manager, with responsibilities including assistance in managing state and federal grant accounting, cash management, banking transactions, and university credit card processes.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; college coursework in accounting or business preferred
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Experience with account reconciliation is recommended
  • Experience with grant accounting is preferred
  • Familiarity with general ledger accounting systems is a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365, and Microsoft Teams
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external vendors

The Office of Facilities Management at Ouachita Baptist University announces the following staff vacancies:

  • Building services/custodian

These positions are full-time and eligible for all university benefits, including health, dental and life insurance, retirement, vacation and medical leave.
